Adriana Duque
The work of Adriana Duque (Manizales, Colombia, 1968) incites the clash between photography and painting. The artist uses photography - and the contemporary resources dedicated to this medium - to approximate and re-read painting. Her research has been dedicated to portraying children surrounded by an austere atmosphere, in minutely constructed scenes.
She has works in collections such as the Figueiredo Ferraz Institute in Ribeirão Preto; Museo de Arte Moderno de Medellín, Colombia; and Museu de Arte do Rio (MAR-RJ).
His major solo exhibitions include "Iconos", Zipper Gallery, 2014; "Anthology of an Obsession", Witzenhausen Gallery, Amsterdam, 2014; "The Other Side", Galería el Museo, Bogotá, 2014; "Infantes", Galeria Horrach Moya, Palma de Mallorca, 2010; "Baroque Children", Museo Iglesia Santa Clara, Bogotá, 2009; "De Cuento en Cuento", Museo de Arte Moderno de Medellín, Medellín, 2005.
He has participated in group exhibitions in cities such as Paris, Bogota, and Madrid, among them "Photoquai - Biennale de Photographie", at the Musée du Quai Branly, Paris, in 2013; "Desnudando a Eva". Instituto Cervantes, Madrid, 2012; "Topologías: Materias en Tránsito", Casa de la Moneda, Bogota, 2006.
