Andre Penteado
The work of André Penteado (São Paulo, 1970) is based on the idea that photography, given its banality in today's world, is one of the most interesting and complex media for the development of artwork. Producing since 1998, the artist has held eight solo exhibitions and participated in more than ten group shows in Brazil, Argentina, Spain and England, where he lived for seven years.
In 2013, he won the Pierre Verger National Photography Award with the work O Suicídio de meu pai; in 2014, he had his project Tudo está relacionado selected for Rumos Itaú Cultural 2013-2014. That same year, he launched his first book - O Suicídio de meu pai (My father's suicide); in 2015, he published by the Madalena Cabanagem publishing house. This year, he releases two more publications: I am not alone, which accompanies the exhibition of the same name held at CCSP in July, and French Mission.
