Carla Petrini

Carla Petrini is an artist, born in São Paulo in 1963, where she lives and works.

Bachelor in Fine Arts with specialization in Engraving and Painting from Faculdade Santa Marcelina, FASM, in 1985 and Post Graduated in Watercolor Painting from the same institution in 1998. Since her graduation, she has been improving her knowledge in the area of Fine Arts in courses and workshops in Brazil and abroad.

Since 1988 he has accompanied students in the teaching of watercolour, acrylic and etching painting, both in regular courses in his studio and in other spaces.

She develops her works with a theme focused mainly on vibrant identification with landscapes, where what most intrigues her are the infinite open spaces and the ravishing skies, and where the human figure does not appear.

The chromatic sensitivity and dramatic sense of the landscape are revealed by an exalted sense of passion for this spiritual dimension of nature, catalyst of sensitivity, point of departure but never of arrival.

Another aspect of her work is also deeply related to that surrounding landscape, to her intimacy and the space that surrounds her. Themes considered eventually trivial, but of deep emotional relationship.

Watercolourist active on the national scene, in addition to solo exhibitions, he has actively participated in several group exhibitions in Brazil and abroad since 1981.

His works can be found in several private collections, as well as in the collections of the Museum of Art of São Paulo (MASP), Museum of Modern Art (MAM), Government Palace of the State of São Paulo, Casa da Gravura of the Cultural Foundation of Curitiba, Safra Bank, Banespa, SESC, Círculo Italiano, Pinacoteca of the Cristiano Varella Foundation in Muriaé, MG, Cultural Center of the Brazilian Embassy in Mexico City, Museo Internazionale dell'Acquarello, Fabriano, Italy and Museo Bolivariano de Arte Contemporanea.
