Daniel Melim
Graduated in Artistic Education by FATEA in 2002 (qualification in Plastic Arts) and post-graduated in Visual Languages by FASM in 2005.
"Daniel Melim's work should be read by the sum of several layers - layer 1: Gesture. The artist's works are produced in an expanded time in which the process involves the choice of materials and the way of painting. His gesture shows the interweaving of yearnings with the experiences of everyday life. Layer 2: Overlay. These are textures that emphasize the movement of "seeing and seeing through"(...). Layer 3: Composition. The paintings are composed by a sociopolitical presence (...) this presence is located between denunciation and irony by keeping the everyday elements represented in their vibrant colours".
