Irving Herrera

My work is characterized by nudes and portraits made in woodcut. My prints represent the bond we have with nature, either by the material used (wood and paper) or by the iconographic content. The high contrast is primordial, portraits formed based on lines, portraits in white simulating an absence that gives it more meaning. This series of works responds to two words: honesty and naturalness. They are a counterpoint to the decorative excess of contemporary art, proposing a return to the starting point, the only place where we can find its original spirit.
