Marcelo Tinoco
Marcelo Tinoco (São Paulo, Brazil, 1967) lives and works in São Paulo. The artist intervenes in the photographic image with collages, cut-outs and digital brush paintings, composing what he calls "multidisciplinary photography". His intention is to displace this medium from the functions of faithful representation of reality to other fields of the visual arts, such as painting.
Awarded the Funarte Marc Ferrez Photography Prize (Brazil, 2013), his work appears in the institutional collections of the Consulate General of Brazil in Frankfurt (Germany), the Museum of Image and Sound and the Rio Museum of Art.
