Okun
Òkun is an autonomous visual artist based in Goiânia - Goiás, Brazil. Graduating in Visual Arts at the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), member of the National collective TROVOA and researcher at the Núcleo de Práticas Artísticas Autobiográficas (NuPAA). Participated in exhibitions such as "Crônicas Cariocas" at Museu de Arte do Rio - RJ (2021) and "Que Nascerá!" at SP-arte Viewing Room (2021), also contributed with the visual essay "Gestos de Cura" in Apotheke Magazine for the dossier by Renata Felinto (2021). Her artworks are found in painting, illustration and digital collage with crossings between spirituality, memory, crossroads and belonging. Intuitively records healing gestures and ritualistic movements made by entities worshiped within the terreiros de Umbanda (shrines), investigating elements that participate in their experience. She uses the non-place as a starting point for discovering crossroads.
