Suelen Lima
Suelen Lima is a visual artist and photographer graduated from the Paulista Faculty of Arts 2021. She also works as an Administrative Partner of the Network of Beauty Salons Afro Preta Brasileira LTDA, since 2010. Her artwork is closely linked to her work in beauty salons, a space that allows her to observe the interactions of women, especially black women, with their hair and narratives. Aesthetics, standards of beauty, ancestry, affection, alternation of narratives and substitution of imaginaries are debates present in her work. She presents portraits, mainly in oil paint, in various sizes and surfaces. She has carried out the project Female Protagonism, in partnership with the visual artist Leticia Mercier, where they organized in partnership 16 women artists for a collective show in São Paulo - 2020. She has participated in group exhibitions and art salons in São Paulo, she was awarded by the Waldemar Belisário Art Salon and the First Biennial Black Brazil Art.
