Failed economic models encourage land degradation, destroy ecosystems and fuel climate change. Several photographic projects record in aerial images massive mining operations, industrial pollution lagoons merging with the ocean, oil spills, natural disasters of wildfires, melting glaciers and modifications in the landscape of the Anthropocene.

Without getting on a plane for many months due to travel restrictions imposed by the Covid19 pandemic, I decided to build my own repository of geographical formations in an attempt to evoke the poignancy and melancholy that come with the disappearance of something beautiful in the natural world. Through a process of reverse mining I construct my landscapes with deposition of ferric oxides, accumulations of salts and rust on paper. 

Eu sobrevôo o arquipélago desabitado de Akhenaton com suas paisagens de sol eterno - terra incognita. As fotografias desses sites são reminiscências orgânicas e pictóricas, oferecendo informações que operam em um nível tanto metafórico quanto documental. Assim usando falsas imagens e notícias reais, desejo explorar os conceitos de realidade e verdade.
