THE CLARE

Clareira (in Tupi, Baependi) is an area with little vegetation or undergrowth located within a forest or woodland. Its conformation is fundamental for the renewal of the forest and for its diversity, as it functions as a kind of granary: there, new species can emerge and the existing ones ensure their survival and germination. In the case of the Amazon forest, for example, these are areas in which nomadic indigenous groups establish temporary settlements.

At the MAC USP, the "Clareira", installed in the ground floor of the Museum, place to welcome its visitors and to make contact with the "ground" of the city, inaugurates a site of diversity and renewal, receiving a programming with several forms of artistic manifestation, to which visual artists, musicians, performers, dancers, writers, actors, filmmakers, curators, directors are invited, configuring a place of exchanges and of artistic expression of diverse languages.

The program alternates punctual actions on Thursday nights, interspersed with two Visual Arts installations that endure through time. São Paulo Companhia de Dança, Teatro da Vertigem, Noemi Jaffé, Joel Pizzini, Livio Tragtenberg, Eduardo Monteiro, Angelo Venosa, Marcos Gallon, Ana Amorim, DC, Elilson, Julián Fuks, Natalia Timerman, Cristina Elias, César Meneghetti, Eugenio Puppo, Daniel Munduruku, Sonora and Lucia Koch are the artists and collectives that will configure the Clareira at MAC USP in 2021.
