LA BIENNALE DI VENEZIA | Its History and Highlights of the 59th Edition 2022
THE LECTURE
The Venice Biennale is the most prestigious art show in the world.
Founded in 1895, now celebrating its 127th anniversary, each edition surpasses itself. In 2022, it has 213 artists from 58 countries and a woman curator, who chose as its general theme "The Milk of Dreams", title of the children's book by the surrealist artist Leonora Carrington.
The lecture contextualises its history, world highlights, its parallel events and the official participation of the Brazilian pavilion represented by the artist Jonathas de Andrade.
WHO DRIVES?
The presentation will be by Adriana Rede, Art Curator, with training in Curatorship and Expography, Art Criticism, History of Art, among others.
He has held exhibitions abroad and in Brazil, for example at Caixa Cultural SP, SESC and MAC USP. She has curated individual shows of many artists, such as Baravelli, Judith Lauand, Nelson Leirner, Hugo França and German Lorca. For 15 years she has been the curator of the benefit exhibition Chapel Art Show, with over 100 artists participating. She is a member of the São Paulo Association of Art Critics. She gives courses and lectures in the country and abroad, always focusing on the dissemination of art.
