Fernando Soares

Fernando Soares was born in São Paulo in 1988, where he lives and works. His work discusses the pictorial nature of matter itself, through paintings/objects, collages and installations. His research is based on the properties and/or ambiguities of the materials he uses and factors such as their action and reaction in his work. He started his studies and productions at the age of 17, period in which he also learned about the history of art through his father, a lifelong art auctioneer, and later attended the Hermes Artes Visuais, where he still participates in the elaboration of projects and the monitoring of his production. He has participated in several collective and individual exhibitions in galleries and independent spaces, besides being selected for salons and contemporary art fairs.
