Jorge Leite

Born in 1955 in Lavras, Minas Gerais. He practised various techniques until he came to dedicate himself to sculpture. His artistic training began in Belo Horizonte, at the UFMG School of Fine Arts, in 1980. But it was in Porto Alegre, with the sculptor Francisco Strockinger, that he discovered marble sculpture as his main means of expression. He spent two years, between 1999 and 2000, studying with Stockinger. His work is represented in important collections in Belo Horizonte, São Paulo, Porto Alegre, Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia and the United States and is part of the permanent collection of the traditional galleries Dotart in Belo Horizonte and Tina Zappoli in Porto Alegre. Today, he lives and works in Gravataí, Rio Grande do Sul.
