Objective sign

The special edition of this photograph derives from the work Letreiro Objetivo, 2014: an installation of a large neon 2 meters high by 12 meters long, installed on top of a modernist building, a project by the Luso-Brazilian architect Delfim Amorim, located on Dantas Barreto Avenue in Recife - PE. Currently in a precarious state, the building houses the headquarters of the Pernambuco Press Association and its cinema, the AIP cinema. Dim and almost invisible during the day, at night this sign announces THE END, a reference to the AIP cinema that closed its doors, and to the non-existence of the Association today in the building, but also to the neglect of modern architecture in Recife, or even to urban and cultural issues of the city. During the period of social isolation Bruno Faria decided to produce, in partnership with the gallery, a limited edition of this work, signed and numbered, with the aim of publicising this production, encouraging and allowing access to collecting at more accessible prices.
