Exhibition "Amazônia" | Sebastião Salgado

After finishing Genesis, his photographic exploration of the still untouched nature of our planet, Sebastião Salgado turned his gaze towards his home country Brazil, and more precisely the Amazon. In order to realize this new project, he spent long seasons together with twelve isolated indigenous communities, navigated the gigantic Amazon River and its tributaries, and flew over the dense rainforest with its most arid mountainous borders. It took six years of work, at the end of which all the photos and images were finished. The exhibition is curated by Lélia Wanick Salgado and will include a total of 205 photographs never before seen in Brazil.

The Amazônia exhibition is globally sponsored by Zurich Insurance Group which, since 2020, is also the exclusive sponsor of the reforestation and biodiversity project in Brazil of Instituto Terra, led by Sebastião Salgado and Lélia Wanick Salgado. The exhibition in São Paulo has the master sponsorship of Itaú and Natura, companies connected with the Amazon cause, as well as the companies Energisa and Banpará. In this edition, the project has the Institutional Partnership of Sesc São Paulo.

Opening hours: Tuesday to Saturday, from 10am to 9pm; Sunday and public holidays, from 10am to 6pm. Until July 10.

To enter the Sesc units in the state of São Paulo it is necessary to present proof of vaccination against Covid-19 (physical or digital) and a document with photo:

- Those over 12 years of age must present proof of both doses or a single dose of the vaccine.

- As of 08/02/22, children between 5 and 11 years of age must present proof of ONE dose (according to the municipality's calendar).

- It is compulsory to wear a mask covering the mouth and nose.

- For ticketed activities, it will be necessary to present the QR Code at the entrance of the activity.
