Exhibition "Compositions for insurgent times

Compositions for insurgent times proposes a reflection on processes of articulation of life from different identities, formats and languages. 

The works, created by artists of different generations and contexts, deal with the relationship between nature and communities, and bring cosmovisions around territories and ways of inhabiting them. In this movement, there are discussions about sustainable and caring structures; notions of diversity and accessibility; and Afro-Brazilian, popular and Euro-Western traditions, brought together to exercise new ways of building and relating to the world. 

With an exhibition design based on triangular relationships, Compositions for Insurgent Times invites you to to scroll, sit, read, listen and participate collectively. To think about what it is to make art, to question life. To grope the invisible that surrounds and strengthens us, in the face of insurgent times, face to face with life that is urgent.

Parallel to these relationships, the exhibition celebrates the centenary of the artist Frans Krajcberg. His paintings, sculptures and engravings declare his passion in relating to the textures and constructions that offer plants, trees and leaves. His gaze travels through the exhibition rooms and dialogues with what is around him, showing a horizon where art, and with it the museum, contributes to establish conversations with the world around us. 

The times arise and artists from different ideas and places bring us different solutions, new possibilities to compose, and ways to live the possible exchanges of the present.
