The artist explores, for the first time, the chromatic universe.
In the works
presented, Eduardo works with spatiality and dialogues with architecture and
landscape, using wood, mdf and enamel paint. "It is a reading of space,
being dynamised by colours. I produced a set of wall sculptures, a
sequence that calls into question the environment and the interaction of the works with it",
he explains.
According to Paulo
Kassab Jr, the show is rhythmic and psychedelic. The colours have a certain visual
movement. A movement that converses with musical inspirations. The work The Great Walrus has a connection with the
poem by Lewis Carroll, and with the song I
am the Walrus, recorded by The Beatles.
On going through the
the exhibition, one can see that the works are interconnected by paintings on the
that connect the forms and colours of all of them with the gallery's architecture.
architecture of the gallery. The fact that the works always use the same colours creates an
association between colour and space, producing a rebound relationship between the works.
rebounding between the works. "Colour almost always adjectives. It adds another
layer", reflects the artist. And the curator complements: If in Rimbaud's poetry,
"A cor da Vogal", the poet reveals the colours of the letters: "A black, E white, I
rubro, U verde, O azul, vowels: I shall yet unravel their latent mysteries", in
in the work of Eduardo Coimbra, colour is a space to be deciphered.
