Interventions XIII: David Magila" exhibition

EXHIBITION

The exhibition will present a set of five works by the artist David Magila that create a relationship between the architecture of the Lasar Segall Museum and its particularities, as well as relations of belonging and identity crossings between Lithuania and Brazil.

Mostly three-dimensional and produced in iron, plastic and silicone, the works will occupy various spaces of the museum, proposing an open dialogue with visitors.

The series Moldados (Molded), in which silicone pieces in the shape of dripping paint are distributed in points of the museum such as windows, roofs and parapets, comments on the act of painting itself. The works Iscas and Sem eira, nem beira will be placed in the gardens and other transitional spaces of the institution, providing a script that comments and fragments the experience of space.

THE ARTIST

David Magila (São Caetano do Sul/SP, 1979) graduated in Visual Arts at the Instituto de Artes - Unesp in 2003. His work is strongly based on a graphic component, but space is also increasingly decisive in the construction of his personal poetics, both in wall interventions and in three-dimensional pieces.
