Public Speaking - MAM Residencies with Yonamine

This month, Angolan artist Yonamine is the guest of Public Speaking - MAM Residencies, part of the Research in Arts residency programme. The conversation takes place on 12 June (Saturday), at 4pm, via Zoom and on MAM's YouTube(https://www.youtube.com/mamrio).

The artist's work is articulated between complex installations, large murals, photographs and videos. Yonamine uses an immense range of objects and materials, such as newspapers, silkscreens, graphs, collages and tears where images from popular culture, American films, personalities that populate the masses and political figures from the African continent and the world are superimposed. In this great mixture, the artist constructs a peculiar vocabulary on these references, indicating his political and social positions.
