Afro-Brazilian and indigenous knowledge at schoolWith Clarissa Suzuki18-22.7.2022 | Monday to Friday, from 7pm to 9pm
The objective of the course is to collectively build reflections about Afro-Brazilian and indigenous knowledge on the school ground, getting to know and sharing pedagogical strategies to combat the practices of racism, prejudice and discrimination, especially expanding methodological propositions that help in the pedagogical practice aimed at a decolonial and anti-racist education. During the meetings, there will be exchanges and reflections about the educational/artistic practices which integrate the Afro-Brazilian and indigenous epistemologies in dialogue with theories which problematize other thoughts and practices in education. For this reason, the meetings will contemplate the dialogue with teachers and managers from different regions of the country, who carry out transforming actions in the context of public schools with anti-racist political pedagogical projects and supported by public policies such as Laws 10.639/03 and 11.645/08.

Introduction to the history of exhibitionsWith Mirtes Marins de Oliveira18-22.7.2022 | Monday to Friday, from 7pm to 9pm
The exhibitions of the MASP collection recover the exhibition proposal of Lina Bo Bardi, in particular the glass easel. A specific objective of this course is to consider the easel beyond its dimension of exhibition furniture, as part of a device. To this end, in a panoramic way, the emphasis on the processes of visibility operated in Western modernity and their articulation in exhibition models, as well as attempts to deconstruct them, will be addressed. More specifically, the course content will address, from this scenario, exhibitions or propositions held in Brazil and abroad, considering the leading role of the actions of Lina Bo Bardi and MASP, as well as other agents. The initiatives to incorporate the post-colonial debate in the exhibition and art circuit will also be addressed.

Technology in art: from digitalisation of collections to NFTsWith Thiago Carrapatoso19.7-2.8.2022 | Tuesday and Thursday, from 16h to 18h
The course, which is part of the project The internet went bad, proposes an overview of how technology is worked in the artistic and museum sector, including processes with NFTs and blockchain. During the classes, the aim is to understand historically how technology was - and continues to be - treated in these areas, its impacts and consequences, and what to expect from the new processes and uses that are causing a furore in the sector. The main objective of the course is to provide the basis for a critical analysis of the use of technologies in the sector. Analyse access to devices, digitisation of collections, production of artworks, reception by the public and museological institutions, and also enter the world of cryptocurrencies to discuss some examples of NFT projects, DAOs and other structures within blockchain.

Afro-Latin American artWith Kleber Amancio21.7-4.8.2022 | Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7.30pm to 9.30pm
The course focuses on the narratives commonly produced about blackness in the Latin American continent. On the one hand, it will present a wide range of artists, movements and narratives, often unknown to the general public or still undervalued in their respective narrative powers. Likewise, it will be shown how this tension is largely due to the political needs of certain groups and subjects to impose a Latin American identity in which whiteness prevails. The aim is to recover, in this way, both connections related to the artistic-conceptual constitution of the works and to determine, as far as possible, a history of the circulation of these bodies and the formation of a network of research and collaboration dating back to the mid-20th century, unlike what might be assumed at first.

Women artists of the 16th and 17th centuriesWith Juliana Ferrari Guide25.7.-28.7.2022 | Monday to Thursday, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm
The course proposes the study of five Italian women artists who lived between the 16th and 17th centuries: Properzia de Rossi, Plautilla Nelli, Sofonisba Anguissola, Lavinia Fontana, Artemisia Gentileschi. In each class, the life and work of these women will be discussed, as well as the main challenges and debates that mark studies on them. The selection of artists who occupied different social spaces also allows for an account of the different possible experiences of the female artist at the beginning of the Modern Age. The course seeks to move from the silence of convents to the opulence of the largest European courts, including the then young Academies of drawing and painting, the hubbub of the mercantile centres and the solemnity of university towns. The reflection on the work of these creators will also allow us to glimpse nuances of life in Rome, Florence, Venice, Naples, Bologna, Cremona and Madrid during the period in question.
