Julia Goeldi

Born in São Paulo in 1985. Joined the University of São Paulo in 2005, where she obtained a Bachelor's degree in Visual Poetics in the field of printmaking. In 2019 she concludes her master's degree at the University of São Paulo/USP in the area of Visual Poetics with a deepening in the water ink technique. Currently his process is developed essentially through the technique water ink. Starting from the observation and perception of the surroundings, he studies the representation of light in the graphic universe. Normally executes the process of engraving in an external environment when the subject is landscape. In these cases he carries a small mobile atelier to make the engraving in loco with all the necessary materials. In this practice he develops a curious dynamic between the act of observing the environment and then translating it into sculpted drawing, thus forming a vast experimental and inventive graphic universe, the result of which is in the prints. Another frequent interest has been the portrait in water ink on small format plates. The model portrayed remains present until the end of the baths in the mordant.
