2nd SPITI. art auction brings together works by great artists

Marina Abramović

In its second edition, the SPITI.AUCTION Auction House establishes its brand of uniting the contemporary
with the traditional visual arts and proposes, in a pioneering way,
new media in the event with the use of NFT

Works by great names in Brazilian and international art will be available for auction at SPITI's 2nd auction, which takes place on March 29th at 8pm.
Curated by Fabio Cimino and Renato Magalhães Gouvêa Jr., the founders of SPITI. the event presents a selection of 105 works of different techniques, media and supports, including paintings, sculptures, photographs, collages, prints, watercolors, drawings, NFT and other languages. There were months of research and hundreds of works from more than 150 collectors analyzed, which according to the organizers, prioritize research and quality criteria and maintain the character of cultural relevance of the works. The collection can be visited in advance at the exhibition space, in Taller Zaragoza, between March 19 and 27, 2022. Bidding will be available from the opening of the exhibition on the website spiti.auction.

Among the important works selected we highlight the photograph by Marina Abramović, artist known as "the great lady of performance art". Entitled "Cleaning the Floor" (2004), the record became an icon of feminist inflections in contemporary art by presenting a homonymous performance in which gender violence is investigated in relation to the domestic environment.

Also in the selection is Andy Warhol's diamond dust silkscreen painting of "Mildred Scheel", an important German figure who pioneered speaking openly about uterine, breast and prostate cancer. Andy Warhol, an American painter and filmmaker, was one of the most influential artists of the 20th century and one of the founders and greatest representatives of Pop Art.

2nd SPITI auction

SPITI. hosts the 2nd auction at the welcoming Taller Zaragoza, in Jardim Europa, São Paulo. The former studio of the Spanish artist based in Brazil José Zaragoza was thought to celebrate his journey in his multidisciplinary career as an advertiser, filmmaker, designer, illustrator and photographer. The exhibition with the 105 works of the auction will be mounted at this address, opening on 19 March and continuing until 27 March 2022. SPITI.AUCTION - founders

Renato Magalhães Gouvêa Jr. a figure who has been active in the national and international art market for more than three decades, has accumulated vast experience in auctions, evaluations, exhibitions, restoration, primary sales and cataloguing of collections. Between 1977 and 1997, he was a partner at Renato Magalhães Gouvêa - Escritório de Arte. In 1997, founded Arte 57, gallery active in the secondary market and with ramifications as Arte57/Foto.

Fabio Cimino is the founder of Zipper Galeria, located in Jardins, São Paulo. With over thirty years of experience as a dealer, he follows a recognised and respected path within the cultural circuit. In 1997, he founded Galeria Brito Cimino, which he operated until 2009. In 2010, he founded Zipper, initially focused on the production of emerging names in the art scene, consolidating itself as one of the most respected galleries in the market.
