Working with art since the 1970s, her work accompanies her in complicity with her biography and in tune with the events of violence that urge the world. Projecting the beauty of life amidst such dystopian times, Beth Neves' solo exhibition entitled "Milagros" presents a series of paintings that claim the right to childhood, in which children can fantasize and dream without fear of being free and happy.
Exhibiting over 30 works made from 2019 to 2021, these start from photographs from family albums or anonymous children found on the internet. They are paintings made with delicate brushstrokes of oil paint, combined with graphite drawings on collages of printed papers, which are then immersed in the fragility of wax; resulting in visualities composed of hazy, mysterious and dreamlike layers.
