Edgar Racy
URBANA is the name of Edgar Racy's solo exhibition held in 2018 at Galeria Eduardo Fernandes. In the works presented in this exhibition the residual material of industrial production, by expressing its literalness, provokes reflection on the memory of objects inserted into the daily life of urban life through the binomial reuse-accumulation.
His works were exhibited in the 22nd edition of the renowned Panorama Exhibition of Brazilian Current Art held by the Museum of Modern Art of São Paulo MAM-SP, in addition to participating in exhibitions held at the São Paulo Cultural Centre (CCSP-SP), Paço das Artes (SP), FUNARTE - from Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo -, Palácio das Artes (MG) and the Museum of Contemporary Art of São Paulo (MAC-SP) where his works are also part of the collection. In 2017 the artist takes part in the group exhibition held by the Eduardo Fernandes gallery entitled Entre um passo e Outro.
Edgar Racy built the foundations of his artistic training by studying drawing and painting with Carlos Fajardo, Art History with Rodrigo Naves and Philosophy with Rogério da Costa. He also attends the nucleus for accompanying artists offered by the Oficina Oswald de Andrade and the course Imagem na Arte Contemporânea with Tiago Mesquita.
