Hybrid Memory

This work is composed of a set of records made during trails in fields, rural areas, forests and swamps, constituting a personal reinterpretation of these landscapes, with a surrealistic and pictorial character. A narrative in tension between nature photography and painting, two traditional forms of landscape representation.

In the first act is the process of capturing images taken during the journey of unknown geographical territories. An exploratory photography of the plastic character of nature and landscape, woven by visual referentials. In the second act is the regrouping of these records and the overlapping in layers forming a new image, now with the contribution of the plastic arts references, of a second visual memory.

The series "Hybrid Memory" then results from this crossing between the photographic visual repertoire at the moment of capture and a regrouping of these records, based on and pictorial visual references in order to create a new image and an essay that refers to an imaginary journey.
