Egidio Rocci

Egidio Rocci, (1960 - 2015). No academic training in Plastic Arts. His development was through his specific interests, which led him to seek training through courses on specific artistic languages, such as photography, drawing or sculpture, for example. As time went by, he felt the need to deepen his involvement, and started to participate in a collective atelier in São José dos Campos. The first exhibitions were organized through his collective atelier, and later the Salons for which he was classified. He was awarded in some important Salons, such as Salão da Bahia, Salão de Arte de Goiás, Bienal de Santos and Salão de Santo André, which opened the way to a solo exhibition, at Galeria Berenice Arvani in São Paulo in 2004. This year he participated in Arco 5, in Madrid, and in the Exhibition Program 2005, of the Centro Cultura São Paulo.

His posthumous exhibition Understanding the Air (E=M2), curated by Laerte Ramos, which took place on the SESI circuit in 2019 (São José dos Campos, Campinas, Itapetininga and São José do Rio Preto), was awarded the prize at the ninth edition of the Premio Marcantonio Vilaça.
