Lucas Quintas

Lucas Quintas was born in 1990 in São Paulo, the city where he lives and works. He has a Bachelor's degree in Social Communication from Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing - ESPM, SP. He participates in the artistic mentoring Hermes Artes Visuais, taught by Carla Chaim and Nino Cais. In 2019, he participated in the Kaaysá Art Residency in Boiçucanga, SP and was selected for the art salons of Praia Grande and Ubatuba also in SP. Lucas develops works in different media such as drawings, sculptures and installations. He uses materials exploring issues such as continuity, tension, lightness, rigidity and balance. He uses the appropriation and assemblage of discarded materials found in various places around the city. Thus, he gains a rustic and worn-out aspect in his works. The importance of drawing is also built in the materials. With coloured lines of different thicknesses and tones, he constructs an almost mathematical drawing, where pictoriality acts, putting its strength and dictating conceptual and material results in his production.

Tem extensão em pesquisa de mercado da arte. Pós graduada em História das Artes pela Faculdade de Belas Artes. Atua como curadora independente, como gestora de carreira de artistas, Art Advisor. Especialista em Arte contemporânea. Na sua pequisa é abordado o campo antrópologico visual, especificamente as transformações sociais, econômicas, políticas e culturais da contemporaneidade.
