Ligia Borba
Ligia Borba. Brusque/SC, 1952. Lives and works in Curitiba. Lígia Borba proposes sculptural groups that have in common the procedure of reproducing objects in varied ceramic techniques by means of moulds where each copy is made in such a way as to present some degree of difference, thus demonstrating a development in a temporal literary narrative. Bachelor in Painting (1974) and Degree in Drawing (1975) by the School of Music and Fine Arts of Paraná. Post-graduation in Art Teaching (1983), FAP and UFPR. Post graduation in Art History (1993), EMAP. Studied sculpture with Décio Mauro Lima (Belo Horizonte), Francisco Stockinger (Porto Alegre), Estela Sandrini (Curitiba), Juan Carlos Labourdet (Curitiba and Buenos Aires). Ceramics with Marek Ceculla (Curitiba), Mabel Santos (Buenos Aires). Instructor at the Ceramics Atelier of the Centre of Creativity of Curitiba (1975 to 1979). Professor of Expressive Materials in the course of Industrial Design - PUC-PR (1980 to 1985). Professor of Sculpture at the School of Music and Fine Arts of Paraná (1980 to 2008). Professor of Anatomy Applied to Sculpture at the School of Music and Fine Arts of Paraná (1990 to 2008).
